Black Ivy Alumni Leaugue GALA 2013

The Inaugural Black Ivy Alumni GALA was held at the Carlton Hotel in New York City and it was a SMASHING success. This very well attended event was presided over by BIAL President, Maisha Walker and Chairwomen, Ayme Sinclair but was hosted by a league of volunteers who were extraordinarily capable and ever so pleasant to be around. For the first time EVER, 8 Ivy League schools banded together to host a multi-school fundraiser in NYC! The goal of the event was to help raise funds for educational scholarships, work study jobs for students on campus and to fund teachers in NYC public schools. This event was fantastic as the Black Ivy Alumni League celebrated the achievements of their guest honorees, an esteemed group of Black Ivy Alumni: Dr. Bernard Rawlins of Fox News, Jack Brewer, formerly of the NY Giants, Robert Reffkin, Keith Boykin of MSNBC and Grammy Nominated artist, Ryan Leslie. A great time was had by all.
