United Way 5th Annual 'The Power of Women to Make a Difference' (1of2}
The United Way presented The Fifth Annual 'The Power of Women to Make a Difference' awards luncheon that was held at the tony Cipriani Wall Street hall and was hosted by Emmy Award winning, WNBC correspondent, Lynda Baquero. The keynote address was delivered by Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Essence Magazine, Susan L. Taylor, founder and CEO of National CARES Mentoring Movement. Ms. Taylor delivered a rousing call to arms in support of students in their attempts and successes in achieving educational advancement and life altering choices to realize their aspirations. This VERY successful venture was attended by a who's who of magnificent women role models who have decided to change the fortunes of children and by extension our society through their support of this philanthropic organization. In attendance were, Dr. Karen L. Gould, President of Brooklyn College, Racquel Oden, Shawn R. Cutler, Susan Raymond, Melissa Hall, Joy A. Collins, Christine Driessen, among others. The closing remarks was delivered by Gordon J. Campbell, United Way of NYC President and CEO. The luncheon was a huge success. (This is the first of two galleries.
